Utah Agriculture in the Classroom Resource Roundup

Description: Come “round up” some new classroom resources with Utah Agriculture in the Classroom! Workshop attendees will each create an online personal library filled with standards-based lessons and activities. Attendees will participate in hands-on demonstrations and discover agricultural-based books that engage students in science, social studies, nutrition, and more! These materials can all be used in classrooms and libraries to enhance students' understanding of food and agriculture’s impact on the economy, environment, and community. Each attendee will receive a Who Grew My Soup book.

Bio: Bekka Israelsen is the state program director for Utah Agriculture in the Classroom. She graduated from Utah State University with a bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Education and a master’s degree in Career and Technical Education. Prior to working for Utah AITC, Bekka spent three years in the classroom as an agricultural science teacher and FFA advisor. She now develops elementary and secondary curriculum for Utah teachers, and presents various preservice and inservice workshops statewide.
